DEHNshield® ZP protects meters and electrical installations

Modern buildings come with a wide range of sensitive electronic devices and systems, for example, modern entertainment electronics, photovoltaic systems, heat pumps or safety systems. Maximum surge protection for the meter and the entire electrical installation is achieved by installing a surge protective device as close as possible to the entrance point into the building.

Although a faulty meter is usually repaired by the energy supplier, it is a real hassle for everyone involved. Arranging a date and time alone is often complicated enough, but the defective meter may also cause the entire power supply to fail. The worst case scenario is then:

• No access to the controls of bus systems (shutters, garage doors, access...)
• Failure of the heating system
• A defrosting freezer
• No Internet connection

This maintenance-free combined arrester is installed upstream of the meter. It is designed for 40 mm busbars where it is snapped on without tools. The spark gap technology with zero leakage current protects the meter and terminal devices.
