Periodic inspections of safety devices

Tested devices protect lives

Safety devices must work reliably all the time. Therefore, the German Accident Prevention Regulation “Electrical Systems and Equipment” (DGUV) specifies test intervals for voltage detectors, phase comparators and voltage detecting systems and recommends test intervals for insulating and switching sticks as well as fuse tongs.

Employers are responsible for maintenance, adherence of test intervals and carrying out the tests!

The regulation says:

Notes on test intervals for protective and auxiliary equipment:

DGUV regulation 3 (previously BGV A3), section 5 – Table 1C: Test for compliance with the limit values specified in the electrotechnical rules at least after 6 years.

Regular tests in the DEHN service centre

Have your voltage detectors be tested in our high-voltage test laboratories at regular intervals. The test will be documented on the device and in a separate test report.

DEHN Hochspannungs-Prüffeld

Prüfplakette zur WiederholungsprüfungOur test services according to IEC 61243-1 include:

  1. Visual inspection
  2. Manual test
  3. Measurement
  4. Measurement of the discharge current
  5. Test for protection against bridging
  6. Test for clear indication

Good to know: We test voltage detectors from all manufacturers.
