If your requirements are significantly higher: The unique 200 kA clamps withstand maximum loads! They are ideally suited for lightning protection systems with little intermeshing and can be even used in Ex zone 2/22.

Components used for installing the external lightning protection system must meet specific mechanical and electrical requirements which are defined in the IEC/EN 62561-x standard series. Lightning protection components are classified into groups according to their function such as connection components (IEC/EN 62561-1) or conductors and earth electrodes (IEC/EN 62561-2). In these standards, the test criteria are described up to max. 100 kA.

Klemme 200 kAConnecting clamps with a lightning current carrying capability of 200 kA (10/350 µs) have now been developed and tested based on the IEC/EN 62561-1 standard. Particularly clamps and connectors of lightning protection systems with little intermeshing installed according to LPL I or LPL II must withstand increased loads. These components are marked with "200 kA" to ensure clear identification.

The following clamps/connectors have been developed by DEHN and are suited for this special use:

  • 200 kA disconnecting clamp - clamping range Rd/Rd: Ø 16 / 8 - 10 mm
  • 200 kA disconnecting clamp - clamping range Rd/Rd: Ø 10 / 10 mm | Rd/Fl: Ø 10 / 30 mm
  • 200 kA MV clamp - clamping range Rd/Rd: Ø 8 - 10 / 8 - 10 mm
  • 200 kA MV clamp - clamping range Rd/Rd: Ø 16 / 8 - 10 mm
  • 200 kA clamping piece – clamping range Fl: 30 x 4 mm

All components have a lightning current carrying capability of 200 kA (10/350 µs).  Special tightening torques must be observed for installation.
